Those attending the Anne Arundel County fair can see just about anything race, from pigs to ducks.

As the animal competitors prepared to spring into action at the Southern Barnyard Runners animal races, the children in charge of cheering on their assigned animals will be standing along the railings of the track in anticipation.

The entire race is over in seconds as the animals sprint around — and sometimes over — each other, tumbling around the sawdust-covered track toward the finish line to the cheers of the crowd.
